Kantar is a global consulting company. I am part of a team whose responsibilities are to expand, automate, and maintain the analytic tools necessary to tackle research challenges.

I lead a team of analytic developers whose tasks include:

  • Maintain and improve existing R packages: add capabilities, investigate bugs and improve existing code.
  • Participate on the R&D process for new developments: requirements gathering, investigation of appropriate statistical analyses, working with the team on experimentation and piloting.

I primarily worked in a project for biodiversity monitoring based on large scale in situ collections of sound, photographs, and videos.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advise and participate in the development of statistical models, for example, the modeling of ecological integrity with Bayesian belief networks.
  • Develop R packages and shiny applications meant to analyze sounds, to generate automatic reports, and to visualize the information stored in our databases.

  • Performed global analysis of energy markets focused on gasoline and natural gas liquids.

LQL is a consulting firm focused in marketing research and predictive modeling.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performed analysis of survey data (market segmentation, conjoint analysis) and participated in survey design.
  • Designed and implemented automatic reports for survey based studies.
  • Developed computational tools in R and Python to improve the efficiency of the analysis area.

Service

R-Ladies CDMX (Jul 2012-present). Co-founder and co-organizer of Mexico City’s chapter. We organize talks and workshops on R, creating safe spaces for gender minorities to learn and grow as R users.

Mexican Statistical Association (Oct 2019-present). Board committee member (voted position). I collaborate on organizing events and maintaining the webpage.

CDSB - RMB (Jun 2018 - present). I participate as R instructor with the Mexican Community of Bioinformatics Software Developers (CDSB) and with the Mexican Network for Bioinformatics (RMB).

UseR! 2021 (Jul 2021). I participated on UseR! 2021 Program Committee, as part of the Abstract Review Committee and the Award Review Committee. I also volunteered as zoom host and marmot (helping attendees find their way during the conference).

Escuela AME (Sep 2019). Co-organized a 3 day workshop on Data Science, the offer included workshops in Bayesian Statistics, Spark and Data Analysis.

Fulbright García Robles (Jan 2016 - Apr 2019). Experts evaluation committee member. I reviewed grant applications and interviewed candidates pursuing graduate studies in the USA.

1000 Girls, 1000 Futures (Oct 2015 - Sep 2017). 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures is a program from the NY Academy of Sciences that takes on the challenge of getting more women into STEM. As a mentor, my role was to guide and support high school students.
